Feline behaviour consultations, Geelong
Feline behaviour problems can be incredibly frustrating and more importantly, can diminish the valuable bond between you and your cat. At Bellarine Veterinary Practice we aim to help restore harmony and provide guidance through professional cat behaviour assessment and dedicated feline behaviour consultations.
- Our approach begins with a thorough examination by one of our veterinarians to check for any underlying medical conditions that could be causing or contributing to your cat’s behavioural problems.
- Once your pet has received the medical all-clear from our vets, you’ll be referred to a detailed online behavioural questionnaire (below) which can take up to 90 minutes to complete and helps us gain a comprehensive understanding of your cat’s environment, history, and behavioural patterns.
- Following questionnaire submission, our team will contact you within 7 working days to schedule a behaviour consultation.
- Behaviour consultations are conducted either in person or via video call. Many pets and owners find clinic visits stressful, and video calls allow for a more relaxed setting where multiple family members can participate. Each consultation lasts approximately one hour.
- An additional hour will be spent by the vet reviewing the case beforehand and preparing a detailed report afterwards. This report, emailed to you, outlines findings and recommendations tailored to your cat’s needs.
- If medication is required, it will be dispensed and made available for collection at your nearest clinic (additional fees apply).
Follow-up behavioural consultations are available and are invaluable for monitoring progress, adjusting treatment plans, and supporting long-term behavioural change. These vary in price depending on the time taken for the consultation. Please contact the clinic for current prices.
