Dr David Hopkins, BVSc Founding Partner David graduated from Melbourne University. He is a renowned leader in the areas of canine, alpaca and equine reproduction with expertise in frozen semen work. He has pioneered research into Alpaca reproduction, leading the way in embryo transfer in Alpacas. His expertise in this area is internationally recognized. David runs the artificial breeding program for the Australian Customs Drug Detection Dogs. He has many years experience in all aspects of Veterinary Science. David works mostly at Newcomb and Ocean Grove.

Dr Ewen McMillan, BVSc(Hons), VMSAMS, MACVSc Founding Partner Ewen graduated from Melbourne University, is a Senior Fellow of the University of Melbourne Veterinary School and actively participates in veterinary student education. Ewen has a special interest in orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, has completed a Veterinary Masters of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery, and has been admitted (by examination) to the Surgical Chapter of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists. Ewen has many years experience and accepts referral surgery from all over Geelong and surrounds. Ewen works mainly at Newcomb.

Dr John Quinane, BVSc(Hons), MVetStud, MACVSc John graduated from the University of Melbourne, has completed a Veterinary Masters of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery , and has been admitted (by examination) to the Surgery Chapter of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists. John has many years of experience in all areas of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and has developed special expertise in orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. He is a renowned surgeon in Geelong and frequently receives orthopaedic referrals from Geelong and surrounding areas. John is a Certified PennHIP Veterinarian. John works mostly at Newcomb and Drysdale.

Dr Barbara Wright, BVSc(Hons), VMSAMS Barbara graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (with honours) and has completed a Veterinary Masters of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery. Her special interests are in Small Animal Internal Medicine and Surgery. Barbara is in the process of becoming a Certified PennHIP Veterinarian. She works mainly at Newcomb and Drysdale.

Dr Amanda Hulands-Nave, BVSc (Hons), MACVS, MVSt Amanda has been with BVP for several years and more recently joined the partnership. She has completed a Veterinary Masters of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery; her thesis involved work on a new type of insulin for treating diabetic cats. Amanda also has been admitted (by examination) to the Small Animal Internal Medicine Chapter of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists. Amanda’s special interests are endocrinology, intensive care and ultrasonography. Amanda works mainly at Ocean Grove and Newcomb and has experience in Avian (Bird) Medicine. She is also President of the Geelong branch of the Australian Veterinary Association and on the Board of the Geelong Animal Welfare Shelter.
