Dr Belinda Calvert, BVSc (Hons)

Belinda graduated from Melbourne University with Honours.

Her special interests are soft tissue surgery and small animal medicine. Belinda has many years experience in small animal and mixed practice.

Belinda works mostly at Newcomb and Ocean Grove.

Belinda owns 2 cats Tabatha and also Mr.T who joined the Calvert Clan after being rescued!

Dr Silke Lulofs, BVSc

Dr Silke Lulofs joined the practice at the end of February 2004. Prior to this she worked in mixed practice in Australia and the UK.

Silke has a special interest in Small Animal Medicine, Cardiology and Ultrasonography and is currently undertaking further study in Cardiology with the University of Sydney Post-Graduate Foundation.

Silke works mainly at Newcomb, Point Lonsdale and Ocean Grove.

Silke is owned by a cat named Zac.

Dr Wendy Wood, BVSc

Wendy graduated from Melbourne University and has been one of the veterinary team at BVP for years. In fact her daughter, Barbara Wright, is one of the partners!

Wendy has special interests and many years of experience in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery. Wendy has completed numerous post-graduate courses and workshops in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery.

Wendy works mostly at Newcomb, Drysdale and Point Lonsdale.

Wendy owns a gorgeous whippet Cinnamon and enjoys riding her horses.

Dr Justin Trudgeon, BVSc, MRCVS

Justin has been part of BVP since December 2001 after graduating from The University of Melbourne.

After several years with BVP, Justin took a working holiday to the UK and returned in 2006.

Justin works mainly at Ocean Grove and Newcomb and enjoys all aspects of small animal surgery.

Justin recently raised a custom puppy Quinto, who was a boistrous golden labrador. 

  Amy Kayler-Thomson, BSc, BVSc

Amy worked as a nurse at the Newcomb clinic for 4 years while studying Veterinary Science and joined our veterinary team after graduating from Melbourne University in 2009.  

Amy has interests in all areas of small animal medicine and surgery and works at all of our BVP clinics.

Amy has a menagerie of animals including horses, cats, fish, turtles, birds, snakes and dogs!

  Dr Erin Thorpe, BSc, BVMS

Erin is originally from Victoria and worked as a qualified Veterinary Nurse for 6 years prior to completing a Bachelor in Veterinary Science and Bachelor in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at Murdoch University in Perth.

Erin joined our team in 2011 and loves working with all small animals but has a particular interest in feline medicine and also hopes to further her studies in ultrasonography. Erin works mainly at Newcomb.

Erin is the proud owner of 2 Maine Coon cats Ambrose and Leo.

  Dr Karisha Splatt, BSc (Hons), BVSc (Hons)

Karisha graduated with Honours from The University of Queensland after previously working in scientific research.

Karisha joined BVP in January 2010 and works at all of our clinics. She is interested in small medicine, soft tissue surgery and reproduction.

Karisha is the owner of 3 dogs and 2 cats. 

Dr Jennifer Cao, BVSc (Hons)

Jen graduated with Honours from the University of Melbourne and joined the BVP team in 2009.  

Jen is a Committee member of the Geelong Chapter of the AVA and her main role is the Geelong-Melbourne Liaison Officer. 

Jen has a special interest in exotic pets including rabbits and guinea pigs and works at all of our BVP clinics.
